1859 - Apr. 23 FL fom Torino to France, from a French Army officer in Napoleon’s Army in Northern Italy, where France and Italy Fought against Austria at the battle of Solferino, blu cachet of French Brigade de Savoia 2nd InfantryRegt, officer’s endorsement at BL, fine. The idea of Red Cross was “born” during the battle of Solferino, when Henru Dunant ( after meeting with Napoleon ) saw 40,000 soldiers wounded and dying. He organized a nursing servis on scene. SPL
